Have you been hearing channel chatter about the FTC Safeguards Rule?
Read on from our our founders Tim Golden and Tom Watson
The FTC Safeguards Rule applies to any entity engaged in financial activities or those incidental to such activities. MSPs offering financing or handling financial data of their clients must adhere to the rule and have a reasonable cybersecurity program in place. MSPs must also develop, implement and maintain an information security program with administrative, technical and physical safeguards. Necessary documentation for compliance includes a Written Information Security Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Security Awareness Training Policy, Data Governance Policy, Incident Response Plan and Qualified Individual designation.
